The St. BRIGID's 150 project

2012 marks the sesquicentennial - the 150th anniversary - of the building of St. Brigid's Church in Kilbirnie, Ayrshire.

This website has been set up as a project to commemorate this event, by building a photographic archive of the people who have contributed to the life of the parish since 1862.

The aims of the project are:

1. to gather as many photographs as possible connected with the parish and its people

2. to build a digital photographic archive to share with anyone who has an interest in it

3. to attempt to put names to the faces of people in these photographs

It would be unrealistic to expect there to be many photographic images in existence which are greater than 100 years old, but photographs taken around the turn of the 20th century may contain people whose connection with the parish goes back to its earliest days. It is also possible that these same individuals may be identifiable by people still living today. Hence the title 'Bridging The Link With The Past'.
